Xenomorphitism

December 30th, 2008

Is not good news. Sharp pains in the stomach, around the bowel area? Pulling pains from the bottom of the ribs down? Usually lasts 3 days before symptoms accelerate.  Can’t stretch your back? Go see a doctor ASAP.

I Love You Adobe Air, but…

December 15th, 2008

…but why no database synchronization support of some sorts? It’s no big deal as I’ve created a piece of code for myself that will do it, but since you’re all about creating desktop applications independent of the web, then how many of these are going to be using databases, and how many of them are [...]

Autoblog and the American Car Bailout

December 12th, 2008

I enjoy reading autoblog to get the American perspective when it comes to the automotive industry. Recently they’ve been covering the bailout, or lack off, of the top 3 American car manufacturers and in doing so they’ve created some genuinely funny comics from one of the most popular images from the story. You can see [...]

Wordpress 2.7

December 12th, 2008

I must say I’m really enjoying the new release of Wordpress. I installed it last night upgrading my existing installation and had a little play about. The interface is lovely but it’ll take 10 minutes or so figuring out where everything is, but to be honest it’s not an issue.
I’ve also given the automatic plugin [...]

Google Reader Redesign Launched

December 4th, 2008

It’s up! Google are on a bit of a roll at the moment and the new Reader looks awesome! There’s information on all the new things on the official Google Reader blog.
Finally you can collapse the subsections in the left hand column, something which has annoyed me for a long time because you only have [...]

A Little Piece of Mind

December 2nd, 2008

The branding agency / creative studio I work for, Marque Creative, have been working on a new art project called A Little Piece of Mind. It’s had a great response so far and has just been featured on Vogue.com.
The exhibitions will culminate in the quilts being auctioned. The sales proceeds from these will be donated [...]

I NEED this camera. Some quick links.

Video from test shoots by Vincent Laforet.
Behind the scenes, another by Vincent Laforet.
The awesome Reverie short movie again by the fantastic Vincent Lafort.
HD footage shot by Dan Chug at the Guardian newspaper.
This is shaping up to be a fantastic piece of kit. [...]

Quake III on your mobile

November 28th, 2008

This is rediculous. There is now a port of Quake 3 that will let you play it on your Nokia n95 8GB, N82 and E90. The port also allows you to host your own game server ON PHONE and comes with Bluetooth support so you can pwn n00bs with a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. Although [...]

Woolworths in administration :(

November 26th, 2008

I find this quite saddening. I remember as a child Woolworths was the first place you wanted to go to and have a look at the toy section. I’d spend an hour or two in there dragging my parents around looking for potential Christmas presents (who said ethnic minorities don’t integrate) and playing with the [...]

New Gondry Animation

November 26th, 2008

Spotted this on greyscalegorilla. Stop motion animation is one thing, but taking it to a new level by creating each from on different times on different days is another. Brilliantly executed but I can’t even begin to imagine just how much time this would have taken.
