Well, I’ve been in and out of hospital now and my op seems to have been a success. I’ll be down and out for two weeks at the most with a 4 week recovery period, during which I’m not to sit on my bum for too long and need to keep walking, avoid heavy weights and spicy food. It’ll be another week or so before I get out and about again with the camera as I can’t walk very fast and it is quite uncomfortable.

My whole experience of hospital was quite good. Given that it was the first time I’ve ever been to hospital for an operation everything went quite well. The NHS is not as bad as people make out to be. I was treated extremely well and am grateful for the care that I received.

The general anaesthetic thing was quite strange. Last thing I remember before waking up was having a laugh in the operating theatre with the surgeons and the anaesthetist. That’s all I remember. Crazy.
