Well, we’ve switched from Virgin Media to Sky Broadband today and so far everything seems to be going smoothly. Installation was pretty straight forward as it is an ADSL connection. I’m going to try playing CounterStrike so it’ll be interesting to see what sort of ping and loss I get while playing that. Hopefully it’ll be minimal. It’s an 8mb connection too, twice as fast as our previous connection.

The only thing that slightly concerns me is it came with a netgear router, similar to the one we used for our Virgin broadband and that gave me serious issues with dropping my connection while playing CounterStrike. I’m hoping that this new connection doesn’t give me the same issues. If it does then i’ll know it’s got something to do with my laptop or the router rather than the broadband connection itself.
